Turnaround Time In most cases, a positive result will appear in 5 to 30mins, while weakly positive results may take up to 1hr to develop.

Specimen Requirements

Specimen Mucosal biopsy specimen
Preferred Mucosal biopsy specimens of approx 2-3 mm in size from both the antrum and the greater curvature of the stomach.
Acceptable Patients must not take any antibiotics or bismuth salts for at least 3 weeks, nor ingest proton pump inhibitors in the 2 weeks prior to the biopsy.
Minimum Volume biopsy approx 2-3 mm
Specimen Collection and Transportation Directly imbedded into the gel on the test slide at 20-30°C
