Turnaround Time	In most cases, a positive result will appear in 5 to 30mins, while weakly positive results may take up to 1hr to develop.

Specimen Requirements
Specimen	Mucosal biopsy specimen
Preferred	Mucosal biopsy specimens of approx 2-3 mm in size from both the antrum and the greater curvature of the stomach.
Acceptable	Patients must not take any antibiotics or bismuth salts for at least 3 weeks, nor ingest proton pump inhibitors in the 2 weeks prior to the biopsy.
Minimum Volume	biopsy approx 2-3 mm
Specimen Collection and Transportation	Directly imbedded into the gel on the test slide at 20-30°C

Unit of Measurement	Qualitative - Postive/Negative
Additional Information	The test should be performed at 20-30°C
Comments
The management and control of the tests are all managed by the endoscopy department. Point of Care assist when requested. Please note, this test is not covered by the current scope of IANZ laboratory accreditation.
