Health NZ Taranaki Laboratory Services
Welcome to the Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Taranaki laboratory services Manual and test dictionary.
The health NZ Laboratory service operates out of Taranaki Base Hospital and Hawera Hospitals.
Both laboratories provide an extensive range of diagnostic testing in Biochemistry, Blood Bank, Haematology and Microbiology. Cytology and histopathology services are provided by Awanui Labs.
Staff are available at both sites for the provision of inpatient and outpatient blood collection
Specialist testing is provided by Canterbury Health Laboratories (CHL), the New Zealand Blood Service (NZBS) in Waikato, and Awanui Labs.
Clinical oversight and advice is provided by Awanui Labs and NZBS.
