Health NZ Taranaki Laboratory Services

Welcome to the Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Taranaki laboratory services Manual and test dictionary.

The health NZ Laboratory service operates out of Taranaki Base Hospital and Hawera Hospitals.

Both laboratories provide an extensive range of diagnostic testing in Biochemistry, Blood Bank, Haematology and Microbiology. Cytology and histopathology services are provided by Awanui.

Specialist testing and advice is provided by staff at Canterbury District Health Board and the New Zealand Blood Service in Waikato.

Staff are available at both sites for the provision of inpatient and outpatient blood collection
